Allergic Rhinitis or hay fever is a group of symptoms affecting the nose that occurs when you inhale a substance you are allergic to, such as pollen, animal dander, or dust. Seasonal allergic rhinitis is most commonly caused by the pollen allergen.
An allergen is a substance that triggers an allergy. When your body comes in contact with an allergen, it releases histamine, a chemical that protects your body from allergen. This chemical histamine can cause allergic rhinitis. Some of the common allergens include:
